How to Install Ceramic Coatings on Glass – Nasiol GlasShield

In this video we go through the proper installation of Nasiol GlasShield ceramic coatings for glass. While it is possible to install many ceramic coatings on glass, we highly suggest a glass specific ceramic coating.

Why? Glass coatings should be more acidic (lower PH) as it helps with bonding. This is one of many reasons that Nasiol glass coatings do not fail quickly and do not cause windshield chatter.

Glass ceramic coatings are one of those products that sound simple until you actually start working with them in the real world.

A lot of people assume ceramic coating is ceramic coating. It’s not.

Glass is different than paint. It deals with constant abrasion from wiper blades, road grime, washer fluid, temperature swings, and contamination that hits at highway speeds every single day. That’s why I strongly prefer using a dedicated glass coating instead of just throwing leftover paint coating on the windshield.

This video walks through exactly why.

One of the biggest things people notice immediately after a proper glass coating installation is visibility during bad weather. Water behavior changes dramatically. At highway speeds, rain often sheets or blows off the windshield instead of sticking around and creating that smeary mess most drivers are used to.

But there’s another side to this that matters for professionals.

A properly installed glass coating also makes maintenance easier for your customer long term. Bugs release easier. Mineral deposits are easier to deal with. Winter grime doesn’t stick as aggressively. It’s one of those upgrades customers actually notice every single time they drive the vehicle.

And honestly, that matters.

As detailers, we sometimes focus so heavily on gloss, paint correction, and coatings that we overlook the small things that improve the actual driving experience. Glass coatings are one of those details that separate a premium service from a basic detail.

Personally, I’m a huge believer in building systems that are repeatable and make sense in the real world. Not hype. Not gimmicks. Just products and processes that consistently perform.

That’s why I wanted to share this installation process.

If you are a professional detailer, dealership recon department, or someone serious about vehicle protection, adding a true glass ceramic coating service simply makes sense. It’s relatively quick, customers love it, and when maintained properly it provides real value instead of just sounding good in marketing.

At the end of the day, that’s what this industry should be about — real products, real results, and helping customers protect the vehicles they work hard for.
